A CUTIE FEBRUARY
If “cutie” isn’t in your vocabulary yet, you probably haven’t been hanging out with Avery (Taproom Bartender and Social Media Extraordinaire) at the taproom enough. We wanted to say a quick congratulations to her & James (our Social Media Marvel turned Event Coordinating Phenomenon), and any/all collaborators on our instagram officially reaching 10k followers! Woo hoo! That’s so many people! While most our focus has usually been on the irl experience, we are in complete awe of Avery and James’ ability to capture our community and share it virtually. So huge shout out to them and it seems we can expect many more fun little videos in the future- I don’t think anyone other than Avery could get a bunch of brewers to build an impromptu silly star on a Wednesday evening. You can see the video of us struggling to put it together here and become one of our many, many followers if you’re not already!
SPEAKING OF IRL… WE’VE BEEN ALL OVER THE CITY LATELY!
This month has been full of wine shop tastings, bar takeovers, guild events and more. We’ve had so much fun getting to see so many of our favorite faces and so many brand new ones all over New York City.
If you’d like to see us do an event at your favorite bar, restaurant, or shop- please let us (& them) know! We’re loving it and our favorite way to grow has been through those types of organic connections. It’s a big city, and we can always rely on our customers to know the best spots to check out.
You can respond to this email, tag us on instagram (@katosakeworks), drop by the taproom, or shoot an email to sales@katosakeworks.com with any/all ideas!
And finally, Let’s bring it back home to the taproom
We’ve been having so many fun events on our home turf this month too, and could not be any more excited for the Spring to come, when we can open up the garage doors and continue our parties out onto the Troutman block.
Two highlights from this month were:
1:
Chuya from Formosa (some of the ABSOLUTE BEST dumplings you can find in Brooklyn) came to our taproom and hosted a private dumpling-making party for our team. We just wanted to give a special shout out and thank you to Chuya for being such a wonderful (and patient) teacher and for sharing her delicious skills with us. And we also highly recommend that you visit Formosa! She returned to the taproom for the other highlight of the month so that all of you could try them too, and we hope to see so much more of her! She’s the best! This brings us to…
2:
We had yet another successful Jazz night with the Takayama Band- including special performances from our very own Ayako Kato on the drums and Maxine Bell on the Violin. We love having Jazz and any music in the taproom & just wanted to say how special it felt to see our very own team members up on the stage sharing their passions with us!
Cheers to many more fun events at the taproom (thank you again, James) including…. our 5th (yes, 5th!) year anniversary coming up! More details to come soon, but save the date (4/5/25)!
PS- We love pairing our sake with other types of fermented goodies and fresh, locally grown food… stay tuned for ways we plan to share some of that with all of you!
