IT’S A SAKE KIND OF SUMMER!
As the heatwaves keep taking over the city, we like to escape the sunshine with a cold glass of sake at the taproom, but it’s also fun to grab a bottle to enjoy at the beach, house parties, grill outs- or wherever you’re spending your hot summer days! With open streets on the weekends, Troutman is full of music and food and plenty of refreshment options (Nook’s cold brew, and KCBC’s pilsner are two favorites that come to mind)- you can find updates of what’s happening & when on the Troutman Open Streets instagram. Also, our calendar (found on the home page of our website) is constantly updated with all the fun things happening in our space. Hope everyone is staying hydrated and safe out there, and we’ll see you soon!
Speaking of fun events and refreshments…
PRIDE PARADE AFTER PARTY THIS WEEKEND!
Many of our friends are playing music in the NYC Pride March this Sunday, June 30th and we’re hosting an after party/jam sesh at the brewery starting around 6pm- until we close (9pm)! Nothing formal, so stop by whenever- we just want to keep the celebration going.
We’re also down to the last few Pride Bottles of Junmai at the brewery, so come and grab yours while they last! We’re doing a $5 donation per bottle to the Okra Project, a Brooklyn-based collective dedicated to providing mutual aid to Black, trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people.
Happy Pride, everyone!
COOL DOWN WITH A FROZEN AMAZAKE
Need to escape the heat with a refreshing, low-ABV cool down? Come try our new amazake slushie!! We’re so excited to finally share this summer treat with you.
James explained it best on our social media:
For anyone unfamiliar, amazake is a low-ABV beverage made from sake kasu, the rice solids leftover from sake brewing. Traditionally served warm and with sugar, it has a rich, velvety texture and mellow sake flavor. But lately we’ve been enjoying the frozen drinks next door at @kcbcbeer and were inspired to come up with one of our own.
We’ll have them fresh and frozen for you at the taproom on the weekends all summer long (with fun flavor renditions coming from our cocktail creator, Delaney)- and don’t forget- we have sake kasu available for sale at the taproom for your own at-home amazake creations!
PS- We’ll be open on July 4th, so if you’re in the city- come enjoy some cold sake with us 4-10pm!
