WE’RE ABOUT TO TURN 3!
IS TOMORROW REALLY ALREADY APRIL?
Much like a typical 3-year-old, we grew at a crazy speed this last year. It was all about making the absolute most out of our current size as we built a new space to grow into. We put so much energy towards planning, preparing, and scaling… and wow, we’re finally at the finish line.
Want to peek in and see what a taproom looks like right before it’s ready to open? Here’s our birthday plan for this Saturday (4/1):
Since we can’t sell our sake at the new location yet, you’ll have to visit James at our 5 Central location if you want to buy an Anniversary Bottle (Open from 1-5pm).
After that, our team will be hanging out at our new brewery location: 379 Troutman St from 5-8pm, casually celebrating our 3rd Anniversary and starting to make use of our taproom-in-progress. We would love to do a toast with you and show you around, shiny tanks and all- we’re thinking of it as our fun “open house” viewing. All you need to do is show Caleb that you follow our social media at the door, and you can come on in for a bit! See ya there :)
IT’S BUBBLY THIS YEAR!
Say hello to our Third Anniversary bottle, and this year it’s extra “special”! Since we added Shizuku to our main lineup, we wanted to celebrate our birthday with something new and went with a lightly Bubbly Tokubetsu (“special” in Japanese). We think it tastes something like strawberry shortcake in a bottle.
Here are some more of our team’s tasting notes, but we can’t wait to hear your thoughts… And remember, since it’s bubbly, make sure to serve chilled!
Tastes like: Strawberries and cream, almond biscotti, watermelon rind
Pairs with: Cured ham, chocolate fondue, monte cristo, seared scallops
Sounds like: Kalimba
MEET our very first SALES REPRESENTATIVE, Caleb!
Hey, y’all,
My name is Caleb and I am so excited to join the Kato Sake Works team as the new Sales Representative. I was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and have lived in New York City for nine years. I graduated from The Culinary Institute of Charleston and now have over a decade’s worth of experience in the food & beverage industry. I’ve done it all from curating events, cooking for a group of 2,000 people, marketing dairy alternatives, and selling home brew kits. Now, I’m able to combine my past experiences with my love for Japanese craft beverages, especially sake! I love the endless possibilities that our industry creates! I can’t wait to see how this will be further exemplified at Kato Sake Works.
PS- We had some really cool guests at the brewery this week… stay tuned on our social media to find out who!
