World Sake Day marks the first day of the Sake Brewing Season in Japan and we are so excited to celebrate with our specialized bottle and the first sake tasting event in Bushwick. There will be many incredible sakes to try (including ours!), plus delicious Japanese foods and beautiful artist booths- all in the style of a pop-up market.
Happy World Sake Day to all the brewery workers, supporters, and sake-drinkers out there. We hope to see you on the 1st!
We’re making our own masu Boxes!
As World Sake Day approaches, we wanted to add something special to our merch line-up. Masu boxes are made from hinoki (cedar wood) and were originally crafted to measure out rice, but nowadays are more commonly used to either drink sake out of, or hold the glass of sake that you are drinking out of.
Shinobu has been busy at work, branding each box with our name and mon to give them hand-crafted individuality. Come by the shop for your very own masu box and checkout the new glassware that goes with them!

Our limited batch Tokubetsu series continues with the fourth release… For this batch we fermented a house wild yeast from a kimoto starter. The results are notes of dulce de leche, sansho pepper, and tangerine. It’s dynamic, pretty bold, and even a little funky!
